So What (Exactly) is a Event Captain?

The Event Captain partners closely with the Event Producer and other internal HMC staff to bring clients' visions of all shapes and sizes to life. Whether it's a wedding, a corporate gala, or intimate dinner party.   Responsibilities include managing the event the day of.  You'll meet with the Event Producer to form a deep understanding of the vision for the event and you'll partner will all HMC team members and vendor contacts to execute that vision beautifully.

You will be surrounded by "A+ professionals" who expect you to perform at their level every day, and you will have the very best administrators to support you.  Hospitality is a fast-paced, dynamic industry and life at HMC is no exception.  Here you'll need to be able to shift between tasks, frequently, while still having a high attention to detail and quality. You'll do administrative tasks like ensuring you have the appropriate number of teammates to staff the event.  You'll send out emails and reminders to the staff.  You'll be the manager of the event the day of and partner with HMC teammates, vendor representatives, and relevant clients (e.g., mother of the bride) to execute a smooth, successful event.  You'll delegate tasks, multitask and problem solve. Maintaining a positive and professional attitude is paramount.

The Minimum You'll Do:

• Meet with the Event Producer to understand the details for each event.
• Work with the staffing coordinator to ensure you have the necessary talent to run the event.
• Support other relevant parties (e.g., vendor staff, mother of the brides) during the event.
• Delegate tasks to front and back of house teammates.
• Shift back and forth between tasks and people, personalities.
• Assist with event set up and break down as necessary.
• Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers.
• Be enthusiastic (Over the Moon!) about exceptional client experiences and a positive, motivational team member.

Your Experience, Education, and Training:

• You have an intense desire to make huge, positive contributions to the company culture
• You have at least 2 years of off-premise catering experience
• You've got 2 years of hospitality experience
• You've got basic computer skills
